Needle Stick Awareness Training

Needle Stick Awareness is intended for all employees working in parks, gardens, public spaces, empty property and other areas where needles and other sharps and inherent hazards which may be found in the course of their work resulting in cross infection, cronic illness and injury.

 

This Needle Stick Awareness Course also includes other type of sharps found in the above locations, such as razor blades,broken bottles and injuries and infection resulting from contact with them.

 

Sharps included in this Needle Stick Awareness course also includes tooth and claw,  i.e cross infection and injury caused by animal bites and scratches from cats,  dogs and bats  including the control of cross infection due to animal fecis and human bodily fluids.

Course Aims

To make delegates aware of needle stick and sharps hazards in the workplace; their effects and how to avoid them.To explain how compliance with the Health and Safety At Work Act 1974 and The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 can be achieved.
